Nantwich’s Age UK shop in Swine Market is calling on local people to sign up as a volunteer to support the charity’s work with older people.

Age UK has over 420 shops across the UK, and 98% of volunteers who work said they would recommend working for the charity.

Nine out of ten said helping out in an Age UK shop helps them feel “part of the local community”.

Over a third have been volunteering in an Age UK shop for more than five years.

Now Nantwich is looking for more volunteers to help with a range of activities, including serving customers, merchandising and creating displays, managing stock donations and assisting with shop administration.

Jayne Tunstall, manager the Age UK Nantwich shop, said: “The shop is reliant on the support of volunteers, so whether it’s for five minutes or five hours, we are delighted when anyone wants to support us.

“Not only will you meet new people and be a key part of the local community, you will also be helping Age UK raise vital funds.

“These enable us to deliver a range of services to help ensure older people can make the most of later life.

“If you would like to join us please just pop in and talk us about how you can help!”

Joan Eastwood already volunteers at the Age UK Nantwich shop.

She said: “You meet lots of people every day in the shop and, along with the team, I am pleased to say many have become good friends.

“Anyone looking to meet new people and get involved should definitely consider volunteering at the Age UK Shop in Swine Market, Nantwich.”

Age UK has over 420 shops across the UK, which generate much-needed funds for the Charity’s work with older people, whilst encouraging everyone to recycle unwanted goods including clothing and accessories, gifts, toys, household items and shoes.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
