A box of ten-week-old kittens found dumped in a box in a garden, are being nursed back to health by RSPCA staff in Nantwich.
The tortoiseshell and black kittens – four females and one male – were found by a member of the public in a garden in Madeley, North Staffordshire.
They are now being cared for at Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre and Cattery, in Nantwich, where they have been named Amber, Lotti, Rosi, Willow and Rupert.
Lee Stewart, manager of the centre on London Road, said: “The kittens are very nervous, which is understandable really considering they have been removed from their mother so young, dumped in a box and then found themselves in a strange environment.
“They have been assessed by our vet and although they were all covered in fleas and a little dehydrated, they are seemingly fit and healthy.
“We shall be monitoring them all over the next week or so before having them neutered.
“Once neutered they will then be put up for adoption.”
Stapeley has lots of other cats and kittens that need new homes.
Recently, staff made an urgent appeal for families in South Cheshire to come forward and offer loving homes for abandoned cats.
