Steve Jones, of Nantwich Town

Nantwich Town were narrowly beaten away at Rushall Olympic despite dominating the second half.

The Dabbers were trailing at the break, after they had cancelled Rushall’s opener on eight minutes just seconds later.

The hosts went ahead when Carl Palmer turned home a cross past Terry Smith in the Dabbers goal.

But Steve Jones (pictured) fired home a fine leveller just moments later as Rushall were sleeping at the back.

Rushall were back in front on 15 minutes when a mistake by Mat Bailey at the back allowed Sam Austin to seize on a rebound and force it home.

Nantwich continued to press before the break with Osbourne and Winslade going close, and Matty Kosylo posing a constant menace to the Rushall back line.

After the interval, the visitors continued to dominate and chances came and went for Nicky Platt, Winslade, and Ben Harrison.

However, a combination of good defensive work and errant finishing cost the Dabbers a share of the spoils.

A Sean Cooke corner and shot by Mark Jones were cleared off the Rushall line in the final minutes as the hosts stood firm.

The defeat leaves Phil Parkinson’s men in 14th place in Evo-Stik Premier League with their final match of the campaign at home to Ilkeston next Saturday April 25.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
