Martin Packham, running London Marathon

A Nantwich man will be running the London Marathon to help raise money for “One Brick at a Time” project.

Martin Packham, a member of running club South Cheshire Harriers, will be tackling the world’s most famous road race in April.

And the 40-year-old has chosen to use the event to raise cash for One Brick at a Time (OBAAT),  which works to transform the lives of school children in Uganda, one of the poorest countries in Africa.

OBAAT works to construct better quality schools and a healthy environment.

Martin, who works for Crewe and Nantwich based housing provider Wulvern, said:  “The company supports One Brick at a Time by offering colleagues the opportunity to work alongside Ugandan trainees, graduates and teachers.

“They share their construction skills whilst refurbishing educational facilities to create inspiring, clean and safe learning environments.”

In recent years, a number of colleagues from Wulvern have helped to transform a primary school by providing much-needed skilled labour and benefiting personally from the life-changing opportunity.

Martin has been training hard, running four times a week to meet his dream of finishing the race in under three hours.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
