Stewart Gandy, cyclist killed on A530, man on trial

A man is due to go on trial in connection with the death of a cyclist on a road in Nantwich.

Paul Anthony Byrne, 36, is facing a charge of death by dangerous driving following a fatal collision on Whitchurch Road, Nantwich.

The collision between a lorry and a cyclist, which happened on November 12 2013, resulted in the death of Stewart Gandy, from Wistaston.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the A530 near Sound, but 65-year-old Mr Gandy (pictured) died at the scene.

Byrne, from Leigh, near Wigan, was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Byrne was charged on April 30 2014 with causing death by dangerous driving.

The trial is scheduled to begin at Chester Crown Court on Monday February 23 and is listed to last for approximately five days.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
