Young defensive lineman George Hopley could play a key role for Crewe Railroaders this season, the club says.
Hopley has continued to impress in pre-season training having joined South Cheshire’s American Football side in July last year.
The 20-year-old has played only a handful of games but is showing signs of promising talent.
Coaches believe Hopley, who measures 6ft 5in, should continue to improve and develop into one of the best defensive lineman in the county.
A club spokesman said: “With new coaching structures recently introduced and with some hard work from George himself, there is no reason this goal should not be achieved!”
