Furious rail passengers were left seething when their train was delayed – after the driver appeared to leave his conductor stranded at Nantwich station.

Passengers say the 4.17pm service from Nantwich to Whitchurch had to reverse back to Nantwich station.

And then travellers looked on in disbelief as the driver and conductor became locked in a heated row on the platform.

Passengers who witnessed the bizarre events yesterday (Tuesday January 27) took this picture and vented their anger on social media.

One wrote: “Your (ATW) staff (driver/conductor) arguing on Nantwich platform when people need to get home for children isn’t acceptable.”

“Delay at Nantwich due to train leaving conductor on platform ….must have been something he said!” said another.

“Train is now reversing back to Nantwich. Back in Nantwich, driver and conductor arguing on platform!” added a third passenger.

And another tweeted: “Still in Nantwich. Waiting for a new driver to be taxi’d to Nantwich from Crewe. Livid!”

A spokesperson for Arriva Trains Wales said: “We are aware of this incident and we are currently undertaking an investigation into what happened.

“We apologise for the delays caused to our customers.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

  1. You have to give the ready to start buzzer code to the driver before the driver can go….this obviously didn’t happen as the conductor wasn’t ON the train!!!! Seroius breach of safety and rules here. Then, they have an argument!!!! I’m shocked!!!
