Two South Cheshire friends are organising a charity “Moustache Bash” in aid St Luke’s Hospice.

Now Nick Hughes-Jones and Dan McGarry have issued a plea for the community to get behind them and snap up tickets for the event.

The charity night will be staged the event at Crewe Alexandra’s ground on November 27.

But the duo need to sell 300 tickets for the occasion and are calling on residents to get behind the cause.

Moustache Bash posterNick said: “We have managed to secure sponsorship for the night which means every penny of the £10 ticket price goes to St Luke’s.”

Nick is a nurse who works for GP out of Hours at Leighton Hospital, while Dan is a local kitchen fitter.

“We have known each other for more than 30 years,” added Nick.

“For the past few years we have both done Movember for charity.

“This year I decided I wanted to do something bigger by holding a ‘Moustache Bash’, things have then snowballed, Dan was asked to join me in organising the event and we have been doing that since the beginning of October.”

The friends have been backed by Mark Porter, the fundraising organiser for St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice.

And they have secured sponsorship from Cheshire-based Brookfield Rose.

“This means every single penny of the £10 ticket price will go to St Luke’s.

“I have dealt with many patients over the years who have been able to go to the Hospice and have the most amazing care in their last few days.

“Dan sadly lost his sister, Halina, to cancer last year and although she didn’t go to St Luke’s he is also very passionate in his support of the hospice.

“We aim to hold a fun-packed evening with excellent entertainment.”

Well-known local band ‘The Flameproof aka NSS’ will play, along with DJ Tim Richardson from Images Disco.

There will be a charity raffle with prizes donated by major organisations, including Crewe Hall, Crewe Alexandra FC, Rookery Hall, Manchester United and other local businesses.

Tickets are just £10 and are available from the Crewe Alexandra ticket office.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
