Northern Soul film promo

Organisers of a one-off Northern Soul film showing have had to arrange a second night – after selling out in just a few hours.

Nantwichnews revealed last week how the hit British film Northern Soul, starring Lisa Stansfield, Steve Coogan and Riki Tomlinson, is to get an exclusive airing in Nantwich.

Interest in the movie has been huge, including reports on The One Show, BBC Breakfast, BBC News and Granada Reports.

Film club organisers secured the rights to stage the only showing in Crewe and Nantwich at the Crown Hotel, High Street, on Sunday November 9.

But within a couple of days of the announcement, tickets sold out.

Now Chris has arranged a second night on Sunday November 16 with another 100 tickets available to cater for the huge demand.

Event organiser Chris Anderton said: “To get this film is a real coup for the area!

“I am delighted the tickets sold out so fast for the original night and we’ve had to put on a second night.

“There are still plenty of soul fans in the area to fill another night I believe!”

It was director by award-winning Elaine Constantine tells the tale of two Northern boys whose worlds are changed forever when they discover black American soul music.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
