A planning appeal into a bid to build homes off Wrens Close in Nantwich has been adjourned until November.

Nantwich South and Stapeley councillors attended the hearing which took place at Crewe Alexandra’s Gresty Road stadium.

Councillors Andrew Martin and Peter Groves (pictured) spoke at the appeal, which was pursued by developers after Cheshire East Council refused permission for 11 houses on the plot.

The councillors expressed concerns about proposed development being in open countryside, the impact on highways and traffic, and the fact it is close to Brine Leas and Weaver Primary Schools.

Cllr Groves said they were concerned that many parents drop children off at local schools and the “sheer volume of traffic at peak times” would cause more problems.

He also cited the “substantial” number of houses already having planning permission in that area.

The councillors also wanted to thank the local residents who attended and made their views known.

The hearing was adjourned until November 4.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
