exhibition half term Nantwich Museum, flagday, stages First World War talks

A Nantwich Museum exhibition during the town’s Food and Drink Festival is sure to create a buzz – with the focus on bees!

The Pillory Street venue, which will be open 10.30-4.30pm during the three-day festival, has a First World War exhibition on show.

And the festival has inspired a focus on bees during the time of the war, as well as their importance today.

Visitors will learn more about bees, make a candle and collect further information courtesy of The Wildlife Trusts.

On Sunday September 7, food tours will be available starting at the museum at 10.30am and 2pm.

The tours will give an insight into food and drink in the town over the years. Places can be booked at the museum reception desk, and cost £2 per person.

The “Nantwich and the First World War” exhibition is being financed by a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant of £3,800.

The grant covers the cost of the display materials, interactive elements, a programme of events and accompanying literature.

It has also enabled members of the museum involved in its development to make fact-finding visits to other museums.

Admission to the museum is free.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
