The Very Best in Stand Up returns to Nantwich Civic Hall next month with the first show of a new season of quality comedy stretching into 2015.
And organisers have vowed they will be bringing the best acts available from the international comedy circuit to town.
Each show consists of four acts, hopefully offering something for everyone’s taste in stand up.
And the first show on September 5 is no exception with three acts making their Nantwich debut, and a closing act who took the roof off three years ago.
Compere and host will be Tiernan Douieb, who has been doing stand-up for many years gracing stages all over the UK and abroad.
His friendly banter and fast paced gags have made him a highly sought after compere and act on the circuit.
First act of the night is Jonny Awsum.
After completing an eight-year comedy apprenticeship as barman at The Chuckle Club, Jonny exploded onto the professional comedy scene with a crowd-pleasing set that’s seen him smash hundreds of gigs all around the world.
With his likeable style and trusty guitar, Jonny’s musings include everything from the white lies he tells his girlfriend to his new home town of Croydon and the memory of his first love at eight years old.
His Edinburgh smash hit show ‘Playtime’ was a sell-out from start to finish.
Canadian comic Pete Johansson made his first forays into Hollywood after a successful debut at the Montreal Just For Laughs festival.
Fresh from touring the UK with Reginald D Hunter and following another run at the Edinburgh Festival, Pete will bring his assured and relaxed comedy style to Nantwich Civic for the very first time.
Closing the show is Sol Bernstein (pictured, above) – a man coming back to Nantwich Civic Hall after a fantastic set in 2011.
Once described by Sinatra as “The Greatest”, Bernstein is coming to the end of a near 70-year career that’s been showbiz from start to finish and has anecdotes and morals that will only help serve to help you.
Tickets are £10, visit www.civiccomedy.co.uk for details, or buy direct from Nantwich Civic Hall Tourist Information Centre in person or by calling 01270 628633.
The show starts at 8.15pm and doors open at 7.15pm.
