A primary school in Nantwich has benefited from a new storybook aimed at teaching children about protecting the environment.
Housing developer Archway Homes has sponsored a number of “Sparky’s Big Idea!” books, published by the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain.
Now 35 copies of the educational resource are being used by staff and pupils at St Oswald’s Worleston CE Primary School, Nantwich.
The book is part of their Barney and Echo series of storybooks.
Andrew Davies, from the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain, said: “I’m absolutely delighted Archway Homes has helped place 35 of these books in a local school.
“They really help educate children on sustainability and protecting the environment.
“The book has already been placed in schools all over the country.”
The Barney and Echo series of books follow the adventures of Barney Eagle and Echo Squirrel, who live in Treetop Forest.
They have been designed to support teachers and parents in addressing PSHE topics at key stage 1-2.
“The work of the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain is exceptional in promoting positive citizenship and responsible decision making to young people,” added Andrew.
“I hope this resource will be enjoyed by both children and teachers alike.”
Copies of ‘Sparky’s Big Idea!’ are available from www.barneyecho.co.uk priced £6.
