Detectives are an hunting armed robber who struck twice in one night in South Cheshire.

The first happened at a takeaway on Earle Street in Crewe when a man armed with a knife demanding cash, but he left empty-handed.

The second took place just 15 minutes later at a petrol station in Victoria Avenue.

A man entered brandishing a knife before jumping over the counter to grab cash from the till and running out.

Police the incidents are linked and are appealing for witnesses.

The takeaway incident happened at 10.25pm on Sunday (June 29), the second one at about 10.40pm.

 

A 22-year-old man from Crewe has been arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are keen to hear from anybody who may be able to help.
