Property investment in Nantwich shows the town’s economy is on the up, according to local business leaders.

They say engagement in a series of property investment seminars held across South Cheshire demonstrates the area is pulling through the tough years.

Crewe and Nantwich property experts Martin&Co, mortgage specialists Watts Mortgages and local solicitors Hibberts joined forces to deliver the seminars.

They offered professional advice and opinions on a range of property-related topics to an audience of landlords and investors.

Shaun Cafferty, Martin&Co director, said he was “very surprised” at the exceptionally high interest shown in the seminars.

“Such events often attract 20-30 people, but over the two days we had over 150 people attending, which is unprecedented,” he said.

“We had people here from Wilmslow and Knutsford, as well as representatives from some leading investment companies.

“It was flattering they were coming to hear our professional opinions and local market knowledge, and the interest in buying houses in Crewe and Nantwich was very high indeed.

“Our estate agency division is already breaking records, but we had some investors telling us that if we had 20 or 30 suitable two and three bedroom properties for sale, they would take them immediately!”

Andrew Watts, managing director of Watts Mortgages, said investors are now a major force in the housing market.

He said: “The current interest in the Buy to Let market is very buoyant, with some great mortgage offers available. Lenders have a strong appetite to lend to investors.”

Martyn Measures, of Hibberts solicitors, said there was a rise in property conveyancing transactions with a good number being with landlords.

The seminars were held at Crewe Alexandra FC and at Residence in Nantwich.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
