A Government decision on the controversial Muller Homes “Nantwich South” development in Stapeley is now expected in July.

The Planning Inspectorate has revealed it is preparing  its recommendations to submit to the Secretary of State.

In a letter to Stapeley Parish Council, the Inspectorate said the Secretary of State may not announce his decision until July 18, although it could be earlier.

It follows a four-day public inquiry into an appeal lodged by Muller after Cheshire East Council failed to make a decision on its planning application in time.

The council later moved to reject the application for the first phase of the development, which included 189 homes and an access road from Peter De Stapleigh Way.

Cllr Sandy Gwinn-Freemantle, chairman of Stapeley Parish Council, said: “We are pleased we do not have to wait too long for the outcome.

“We are thankful for the support we have received from both Cheshire East Council and local residents.

“I would also like to place on record my thanks to parish councillor Keith Nord who represented us at the public inquiry.

“We hope that our efforts will be rewarded in the Inspector’s refusal of the appeal.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
