Nantwich Town’s season continues to fizzle out as they slumped to another defeat, 4-2 away at Whitby.

Aaron Burns gave Danny Johnson’s men the perfect start when he fired home after just eight minutes on the east coast.

But the hosts, backed by just 250 supporters, levelled before the break through Shane Henry in the 30th minute.

Whitby then took control midway through the second period when Mark Robinson smashed a penalty passed Steve James on 67 minutes.

The Nantwich defence was caught out again five minutes later as Lee Mason made the points safe for the hosts, before Henry added his second and Whitby’s fourth in the 81st minute.

The Dabbers scored a late consolation through Ben Deegan (pictured) on 88 minutes, but it was too little too late.

The defeat saw Whitby leap-frog Nantwich in the table and the Dabbers now lie in 14th place in Evo-Stik Premier League, nine points clear of the relegation places with six matches to go.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
