Nantwich boutique Parkgate is holding a fashion show in aid of a charity supporting families with seriously ill children in hospital.
The event is in honour of a customer who was supported by Sick Children’s Trust while her poorly baby boy was treated.
Laura Wells stayed at the charity’s Crawford House while son Thomas (pictured) had treatment at the Freeman Hospital’s Children’s Heart Unit, where he died from complications following a heart transplant.
Now Barbara Timmins and Becky Dawson, owner and manager of Parkgate on Swine Market, want to help by raising funds.
Their fashion show, which will offer glimpses of the boutique’s summer range, will be held at Firenze on Welsh Row, Nantwich on April 9 at 7.30pm.
Guests will enjoy bubbly and nibbles, before watching models showing off the latest trends from brands including Religion, French Connection Vila, Vero Moda and A Postcard from Brighton and a range of jewellery, scarves and bags.
A silent auction will follow with prizes including champagne afternoon tea at Rookery Hall, designer Religion clothing, Power Plate sessions at JJ studios.
The Sick Children’s Trust supports around 3,500 families every year, but relies entirely on voluntary donations.
It is fundraising to build a new house at Freeman Hospital so families can stay just minutes from their children’s bedsides.
Becky said: “When we heard of Laura and her family’s loss we wanted to support her in a positive way and this gave us the opportunity to help The Sick Children’s Trust.
“Knowing Laura (pictured, right) has really driven home how important the support offered by the trust is to families with seriously ill children.
“We have had a fantastic response already from local businesses who have kindly donated gifts, money and their time in order to make the fashion show a success and to raise as much money as possible for both The Sick Children’s trust and Macmillan.”
Caroline O’Doherty, campaign and appeals manager for The Sick Children’s Trust, said: “I met Laura at Crawford House and was devastated to hear of her family’s loss.
“We know how important this new house will be in enabling families to stay right by their child’s side, during the most difficult circumstances imaginable.
“I am so very grateful to Parkgate for their support and wish them all the best for a fantastic night.”
Tickets cost £10, with funds raised going to support The Sick Children’s Trust’s ‘Home from Home’ appeal as well as cancer charity Macmillan.
