A woman has died after a house fire in Wistaston.

The victim was found by fire crews from Nantwich and Crewe as they searched the property on Prior Close, Wistaston.

Firefighters, including four with breathing apparatus, had to battle the blaze in a ground floor bungalow.

They used two hose reel jets and one covering jet to tackle the flames which had spread to the roof during the incident at 7pm last night (Saturday March 1).

A large fan was also used to clear smoke, as the fire was being extinguished.

“Unfortunately this fire was confirmed as a fatal incident, with one female fatality located within the property,” a spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters isolated the gas and electric.

The roof of a neighbouring property was checked to see if the fire had spread.

Police and ambulance attended this incident. The woman’s identity has yet to be revealed.

A fire investigation is now underway to established the cause of the blaze.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
