Parkinson's UK - Nantwich Civic Hall, cost falls

Nantwich Civic Hall had to cancel several planned events after a major power failure hit the venue.

Engineers from supplier Scottish Power were called in to the hall on Market Street after a black-out struck.

Engineers from Scottish Power have been on site all day after a failure on the main supply into the hall.

They dug down and managed to find the cable outside the library, cut the cable, repair inside at the meter and then re-join the cable outside.

The hall is now back open in time to host the CEROC dance event tonight (February 25).

“We lost Yoga class last night, Rotary lunch and 50’s club Table Tennis and Bowls today,” said a Nantwich Town Council spokesman.

The venue has been without power and all phones for the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Mill Street in Nantwich remains closed today as United Utilities battle to repair a collapsed sewer outside the Wickstead Arms pub.

The road was closed yesterday morning after the collapse was discovered.

They hope to have the work finished and road re-opened by 6pm tonight (February 25)

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
