The family of a young man found dead in Nantwich hours after celebrating his 21st birthday, have paid tribute to him.

David Flaherty is pictured celebrating the milestone the night before he died suddenly at his girlfriend’s house on Bishops Wood.

His mum Pamela, from Crewe, revealed how David had been happy the night before at The Globe pub on Audlem Road with his girlfriend Meg, a former Shavington High student.

But the former King’s Grove School pupil, who has suffered uncontrolled epilepsy for five years, died at around 11.30am on Sunday (February 2).

His mum Pamela said: “We are all in shock and disbelief.

“He was only 21 yesterday. It’s so so wrong.

“We didn’t always see eye to eye but I hope he knew we loved him with all our hearts.

“He was very happy when we spoke to him last night before he was so cruelly and suddenly ripped from us.

“We are devastated. God bless our son, no more suffering for you now at least.”

Dozens of friends paid tribute to David on his and family Facebook pages.

One said: “Rip Dave. Such a sad loss ay such a young age. Celebrating one day and grieving the next. Life is so cruel.”

Another tribute added: “Rip young man, such a special day for you yesterday and tragic today, what can I say, life is evil at times.”

David went to Beechwood Primary before studying at King’s Grove and then South Cheshire College.

But his epilepsy worsened and it meant he was unable to work.

He also leaves behind his dad Jim and younger brother Kane.

The cause of death is being investigated and a post-mortem is due to be carried out.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
