Popular Nantwich band Blitz Kids release a new studio album “The Good Youth” through Red Bull Records on January 20.

The album has been hailed by producers as “a rebirth” for the band made up of Joe James, Jono Yates, Nic Montgomery and Matt Freer.

The group, hailed by national publishers like NME, Kerrang, Metal Hammer and Rock Sound, will also be releasing a new single “Sometimes” on January 27.

Recorded in LA through the early part of 2013, the new album’s producer John Feldmann has combined the group’s high octane and energetic live sound while retaining the band’s passion for melody.

Most of the band still live in the Nantwich area and return to the town to perform live to stay close to their roots.

Guitarist Jono Yates said: “There’s a much more positive vibe on this record than our last.

“We’ve spent the years since our last album getting the right line up and working hard on all aspects of our music.

“The fact we recorded it in LA is pretty insignificant.

“It was hot, and we had a great time out there, but I think it’s more a musical snapshot of the when and who, than the where.”

The group hooked up with Feldmann by chance on a family holiday.

Vocalist Joe James began writing the album with the chorus for “Keep Swinging” at John’s house one night.

“We wrote the chorus of Keep Swinging and he told me to finish the song off in the studio because he had to rush out,” recalls Joe.

“I finished the song that night and emailed it to him.

“He called me back and told me, ‘Joe, that song is going to change your life, I can’t let you leave buddy, change your flight, we need to write’.”

The band then flew out and began the sessions for the album with John, while fitting in nights out with Michael Fassbender and the cast of Sons of Anarchy and working on the record with Josh Freese and Marcel Rodriguez Lopez from The Mars Volta.

The new album features tracks like the early singles Run for Cover and On My Own, as well as future single and album centre-piece Keep Swinging, album closer Lost Generation, and new single Sometimes.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
