Two young ponies were dumped and left to die in a field in Poole, near Nantwich.
The RSPCA say one is a young foal just six to nine months old and 10hh. The other is a young gelding about two years old and 12hh.
They were dumped in a field at a residential property in Hall Lane, with the gate left open.
The horses have been collected by the RSPCA.
Both ponies were in a lean body condition and the larger one was suffering from diarrhoea due to a worm infestation.
They have been named Bert and Ernie and they were dumped on Friday December 20.
RSPCA inspector Nadine Pengilly said: “I have now had to deal with three dumped sick horses in recent days and it is very concerning – especially as the RSPCA is full to bursting with a large number of equines already.
“We just cannot cope with the sheer number of horses being abandoned and coming in to our care. We need the public’s help.
“If anyone is considering taking on a horse or pony please contact the RSPCA first as we have so many that are in desperate need of new homes.”
