A new Nantwich-based cycling race team has been launched to compete at top race events around the UK.

Vision Racing has been put together by cycling enthusiast Ian Middleton and has launched with an initial membership of ten.

Now members are looking forward to tackling the 2014 racing season after they have secured strong backing from local sponsors.

The team, which includes Paul Baptist, Rebecca Marshall, Dom Crisp, Russ Gibbons, Jon Parton, Mark Maguire, Ian Middleton, Andy Jones, Tony Haley, Rob Capener, has been put together in partnership with Reaseheath College in Nantwich.

Ian Middleton, Team Principal, said: “Having been involved with cycling clubs for many years I’ve seen the passion for the sport grow and grow.

“I was keen to find a way to support and help individuals who want to compete and race in their chosen sport.

“When I started to make initial enquiries about setting up Vision Racing I realised there was very strong interest and it hasn’t been at all hard to establish a team!

“I’d like to thank all our sponsors without whom we wouldn’t have been able to make such a speedy and professional start and I’m sure I speak for everyone involved when I wish all members of the team every success for the future.

“We are all looking forward to working together and seeing how our first season progresses.”

Vision Racing’s main focus will be to compete in British Cycling and TLI road racing events, Manchester & District Time Trial Association (MDTTA) time trials, British triathlon and duathlon events from March 2014 to October 2014.

Each member has been through fitness assessments with the Association of British Cycling Coaches (ABCC) who will provide them with coaching and mentoring throughout the season.

The team will meet for a group ride each Sunday morning during winter and take advantage of the state-of-the-art sporting facilities and sport science support at Reaseheath College.

Sponsors include Manchester property advisors GRM Property Consultants, Mark Beavan Associates and Cheshire-based, Delamere Dairy. They have helped with initial set up requirements including kit, equipment and training.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
