Staff at a trust which supports adults with learning disabilities in Crewe and Nantwich, celebrated success at an awards night.

The Lady Verdin Trust held its annual dinner and dance at Nantwich Civic Hall, with more than 300 members of staff, clients and supporters.

And this year’s event saw a record number of awards presented with more than 70 members of staff and clients recognised for their hard work and dedication.

Chris Chennell, chief executive of the Trust, said: “This is probably the biggest event we have to date and as always I was enormously proud to present awards during the evening.

“Every year our staff demonstrate their tireless commitment to supporting our clients and in turn our clients accomplish amazing things in their lives – all of which we celebrate as part of our awards event.”

The event also gave the trust a chance to announce their support and commitment to the care sector’s new Driving Up Quality Code.

Guest speaker Sarah McGuire, co-author of Driving Up Quality, who presented awards during the evening, said: “It was an honour to be invited and to present awards to so many inspirational individuals.

“The Driving Up Quality Code sets the standards in the care industry and it’s a great testament to the Trust and its staff that they are one of the first organisations in the country to sign up to the code.”

Gill Moreland, who was presented with the 20 Years’ Long Service Award, said: “I am very honoured to receive this beautiful award.

“The Trust is a great place to work and I can’t imagine working anywhere else.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
