A man has been bailed in connection with the death of 65-year-old cyclist Stewart Gandy on the A530 near Nantwich.

The 36-year-old man was arrested in Wigan and was quizzed by Cheshire Police officers.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers have traced a lorry believed to be involved in the collision and enquiries are continuing.

Mr Gandy, from Wistaston, was cycling along the A530 near Baddeley Bridge, Aston, when the incident involving a lorry happened at about 1.40pm on Tuesday November 12.

Mr Gandy died at the scene and the lorry failed to stop at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information, which might assist officers with inquiries, is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 453 of 12 November.
