Danny Johnson and Aaron Burns

Nantwich Town have swooped to secure the loan signing of FC United defender Adam Jones.

And it comes on the same day top scorer Aaron Burns (pictured) pledged his future to the Dabbers after rivals AFC Fylde made a bid for him.

Nantwich boss Danny Johnson moved in for Jones and has him on a one-month loan subject to paperwork.

Jones could feature in Nantwich’s eagerly-awaited FA Trophy third qualifying round away at local rivals Northwich Victoria.

The defender has been a solid performer at the back for FC United in recent seasons, and also weighs in with goals having scored 18 times in 96 appearances, according to FC United’s official website.

Johnson told Nantwichnews he was keen to bring in a quality defender after losing Mat Bailey to Telford and Earl Davis out long-term injured.

“We are a little short at the back but Adam has excellent experience and will be a real asset to us during his time with Nantwich Town,” he added.

Meanwhile, in-form striker Burns has delighted fans after signing a new contract with the Dabbers.

Burns has netted 15 goals in 21 appearances since his summer move from Ashton United.

“I’m loving it at Nantwich,” said the former Manchester United youth.

“The facilities here are great and the supporters are fantastic.

“We’re now starting to put a run together and there’s a real buzz about the place.

“We have a top manager in Danny Johnson and I’m really enjoying being part of it all.”

Manager Johnson said: “Aaron has been magnificent since following me to the Weaver Stadium back in May and has been rewarded for not only his performances but his commitment and desire to play for Nantwich Town.

“Talks were already well under way when the club received an approach for Aaron from AFC Fylde over the weekend.

“However, Aaron was happy to commit to the club without talking to AFC Fylde which shows me and the club he is here for the right reasons and should be commended for that.”

Nantwich Town Chairman Jon Gold said: “We’re delighted Aaron has signed a contract with us.

“He is a top, top striker – and you couldn’t wish to meet a nicer guy.

“We know that ultimately Aaron wants to play at a higher level and I’m sure if he continues bagging the goals for us that his wish will come true!”

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
