Nantwich Museum wants people in the town with any memorabilia connected to the Great War 1914-18 to come forward.

The Pillory Street venue’s research group is focusing on the impact of the war on the local community in preparation for a major exhibition to take place next summer.

Local information, artefacts and memories are sought on all aspects of community life in the town.

These include schools, the economy, the various factories, the effect on local farms, recruitment to the military, the role of women, and more.

There were four Auxiliary Red Cross Hospitals in and around Nantwich which would have involved the support of local people, including groups such as the Nursing Institution and the Girl Guides.

Anyone with information is requested to contact chairman of the research group Andrew Lamberton at the museum on [email protected], call 01270 627104, visit www.nantwichmuseum.org.uk

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
