The Nantwich Singers

St Mary’s Parish Church in Nantwich will host a Choral Celebration of St Cecilia on Saturday November 23.

The performance will feature the Nantwich Singers (pictured), the Nantwich Singers Orchestra and organist Simon Russell.

It will be conducted by Tony Metcalfe.

November 22 is the feast day of St Cecilia (the patron saint of music and musicians) and it also marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great British composer, Benjamin Britten.

The concert will include a piece by Britten called “Hymn to St Cecilia” as well as a concert version of the glorious English opera by Purcell “Dido and Aeneas”.

The show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £8 including refreshments and are available from THINK IT on Hospital Street in Nantwich, from the Church shop or from the door on the evening.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
