Train fans gathered to enjoy the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society annual open day in Nantwich.

The free event took place on the society’s premises at the rear of the Peacock Hotel, Crewe Road, in Willaston.

There were model steam and electric train rides, a display of larger gauge locomotives, and a demonstration of equipment used by the hobby engineer of yesteryear in ‘Mike’s Shed.

There was also a photo display of the history of the society along with refreshments served by volunteers in the clubhouse.

There were further refreshments available outside from the Wilson House Scouts

The event was enjoyed by hundreds of visitors and the rain stayed away all day.

The society currently has 80 members and meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.45pm in their clubhouse.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
