exhibition half term Nantwich Museum, flagday, stages First World War talks

Nantwich Museum has announced a series of talks to run alongside its current exhibition, Nantwich Eats.

The first takes place on Saturday August 24 and is called A Celebration of Salt, by Graham Dodd.

The talk will be held at 2.30pm.

Other talks include August 31 at 2.30pm, Food of the Future, by David Denny, and on Tuesday September 10 at 3pm, Memories are made of Food, by David Morgan.

On Saturday September 21 at 2.30pm, Who Killed the High Street, is a talk by Keith Lawrence.

And on Wednesday October 2, at 3pm, 100 years of Chatwins, will be hosted by Paul Mooney

Miranda Shufflebotham will hold her talk Cheerbrook: Then and Now  on October 23 at 3pm.

A further talk is planned, Foodbank – A Sign of the Times, which will outline the origins and work of the Nantwich Foodbank.

Tickets for the talks cost £3 (museum members £2) and are available from the Pillory Street venue.

The Nantwich Eats exhibition, which runs until October 26, is the story of 100 years of food shopping in the town.

It focuses on key dates from 1913, and illustrates changes in food shopping habits, where people shopped, when, what they bought and how it was bought.
