Three Nantwich friends will be pedaling from London to Paris next month to raise vital hospice cash.

Charlie Gobbett, Tony Hoy and Gareth Roberts are tackling the three-day “Avenue Verte” challenge in aid of St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice.

They leave on August 10 from the London Eye on the banks of the River Thames, and three days later will finish at Notre Dame, Paris.

Charlie, 47, a tourism and marketing translator, 61-year-old Tony, a retired general practitioner, and Gareth, 58, a bicycle instructor, are all members of Nantwich Players Theatre.

During the last few years they have taken on challenges such as the Coast to Coast (Whitehaven to South Shields) bike ride and the Welsh 3000s (Snowdonia) 15 Peaks walk for charity.

The three men, who live in Nantwich, are funding the bike ride themselves and are looking for the public to support St Luke’s through their efforts.

Donations can be made to the charity by contacting Gareth Roberts on 01270 629958 or by visiting their JustGiving page.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
