Police want witnesses to an alleged racial attack on a driver at a busy junction on Nantwich Road.
The incident, being treated as a racially aggravated assault, happened at the junction with Ruskin Road in Crewe.
Officers are studying CCTV but believe a number of people must have seen the incident during peak hour evening traffic.
It happened at 5.50pm on July 19 when and involved two motorists and a passenger.
PC Kev Lloyd said: “There were plenty of people around at the time who would have witnessed the assault on the driver of one of the cars which had slowed down as it approached the junction.
“I would appeal to them if they have not yet spoken to police, or anyone that may have caught the incident on CCTV to contact us.
“Hate crime is taken extremely seriously by the Constabulary and anyone with any information is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 945 of 19 July.”

Two men from Crewe, aged 32 and 34, have been charged with racially aggravated assault and are due to appear at South Cheshire Magistrates on August 6.
