Nantwich CC 1sts  stumbled to a seven-wicket defeat away at Cheshire Boughton Hall.

Nantwich were up against it from the start when they lost both their openers Jonny Kettle and Ray Doyle for just three runs.

Liam Livingstone was the stand out performer with the bat, falling just three short of his century off 118 balls.

He had some help from Robert Cook-Sievewright (34) and Sam Hunt (34), but Nantwich’s tail end failed to flicker and they were all out for 228.

In reply, Chester got off to blistering start and never looked back.

A first-wicket partnership of 111 set them on the road, with openers Mark Rowlands (92) and Warren Goodwin (62) setting the pace.

Lee Dixon added 55 in 74 balls as the hosts reached their target with the loss of just three wickets and more than 10 overs to spare.

Livingstone took two wickets to cement his man of the match performance for Nantwich, whose faint hopes of retaining the Cheshire County Premier title are fading fast.

They are on 205 points from 14 matches, 71 points behind leaders Neston with Chester now in second place.

Nantwich 2nds were also beaten by Chester at Whitehouse Lane.

The 2nds were 202 all out in 49.1 overs, Tim Cowap smashing a fine 53 from 38 balls.

But Chester opener Bob Evans set about the Nantwich attack with 118 off 115 balls. They reached their target with two wickets to spare.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
