Nantwich Town bosses have dished out over 2,000 free season passes to primary school children across the town.

The Weaver Stadium club, who have launched the initiative with sponsors County Insurance, want to encourage more children to watch their local football side.

The gesture means all youngsters who received their passes at school this week, can get in free to every Nantwich Town home league game with a paying adult during the 2013-14 season.

Club chairman Jon Gold said: “We all appreciate in the current economic climate watching football as a family can sometimes be an expensive and in some cases, an unaffordable pastime.

“We are very excited about the new chapter in our history we are about to embark on and the optimism and excitement that Danny Johnson has brought to the club.

“It would be great to see the town get behind the team and help create a fantastic atmosphere on match days and to this end we feel giving all eligible local school children free season passes, as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult, is a great way to hopefully do this.

“At the same time we’re ensuring visits to watch the Dabbers at the Weaver Stadium are affordable for all families.”

County Insurance’s Tim Crighton has dished out more than 2,000 lanyards with season passes on to children at Pear Tree Primary, Stapeley Broad Lane, Weaver Primary, St Anne’s Primary, Millfields Primary, Highfields Primary, and Wyche Primary.

“The feedback has been great so far,” said Tim.

Nantwichnews revealed this week Nantwich Town’s full league fixture list for 2013-14.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
