Nantwich pupils have clocked up another success – in an initiative to design timepieces for a local retailer.
Youngsters at Malbank School and Sixth Form College ticked all the right boxes in YET ( Young Emerging Talent) initiative set up by teacher Claire Magee.
And with backing from Nantwich business Mia Stanza, the Year 9 students they designed a number of ingenious clocks.
Six of the best were chosen by Malbank headteacher Jeannette Walker to be put forward for a public vote.
And the clocks also went on display on the walls of the Mia Stanza store, on Beam Street, Nantwich.
“We are so excited to have our clocks on public display and have been overwhelmed by the support we have had on Facebook, in school and by the customers of Mia Stanza,” said pupils Sally Thompson and Olivia Ross.
“There were over 300 people voting for their favourite clock. We are hoping to transform this small competition into a huge opportunity for local high schools to come together and show everyone what they can do!”
The public vote picked out two overall winners, Megan Wilde and Morganne Prince, pictured here teacher Claire Magee (far left) and Mia Stanza’s Louise Lightowler (far right).
