Crewe & Nantwich Ramblers Association is urging people to join up and enjoy the outings they have planned this summer.

The group organises walks across all parts of England every two weeks, with the next at Hayfield in Derbyshire on Sunday June 9.

Hayfield is a popular walking and mountain biking centre and a traditional starting point for the ascent of Kinder Scout.

The village lies on the Pennine Bridleway long-distance route, part of which follows the Sett Valley Trail.

The village contains a high number of public rights-of-way, as well as bridleways, a legacy of the pre-industrial days, when they provided the only ways in and out of the area.

There are three walks to choose from – six, nine and 12 miles.

Travel will be by coach from Nantwich Bus Station with pick-ups at Wells Green, the former Earl of Crewe pub and Crewe Library.

Last Sunday May 26, 40 members were out and about near Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

Led by three Walk Leaders Mario Di Bratto, Alan Grattage, and Stuart Watkinson, the group enjoyed fine weather and local countryside.

The route followed three rivers, the Hamps, the Manifold and the Dove. Walkers finished at a local hostelry the White Hart Hotel for refreshment before heading home.

Rambles are held every two weeks on Sundays throughout the year, and evening rambles on alternate Thursdays during the summer.

New members of all ages are welcome. Contact Marie Leeke (membership secretary) 01270 842661, visit www.creweandnantwichramblingclub.org.uk

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
