‘The Very Best in Stand Up‘ returns to Nantwich Civic Hall for the final show of the season before a 12-week summer break.
Compere and host for the June 7 show will be a familiar face to long-time comedy fans in Cheshire.
Toby Hadoke was resident compere way back at the Limelight, and since then he’s had two successful Edinburgh shows.
Earlier in his career, Hadoke picked up the Les Dawson award for comedy at the North West Comedy Awards, beating Peter Kay, Dave Spikey, Ken Dodd, Caroline Ahearne and Steve Coogan.
First act is Tony Burgess, of cult BBC3 comedy Ideal where he plays DJ Troy, Moz’s crazy, vinyl-obsessed brother.
Burgess has performed stand up throughout his career, which came through Nantwich Civic Hall two years ago.
He is a award-winning comedy writer, notably on “Ideal” and also as the creator of BBC sitcom “The Visit”, which was nominated at the Royal Television Society Awards.
Second up is Marlon Davis – another young, exciting comedy prospect making a big name for himself.
With a “Brown Eyed Boy” MTV series under his belt, Marlon was crowned winner of ITV series “FHM’s Search for a Star” comedy and was a finalist in three other competitions.
Final act is Sony Radio Award winner Michael Legge (pictured).
Legge’s Edinburgh show “What A Shame” was one of the highlights of the Edinburgh Festival last year.
It was about embarrassment, shame and why, no matter what you may have done, Michael has probably been caught in worse situations.
He regularly co-presents the “Absolute Radio Sunday” show with Dave Gorman and is an established comedy writer.
