Nantwich is to host a day of celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.

There will be fun and activities taking place on Nantwich Town Square next Saturday June 1 from 11am to 2pm.

It is part of a  programme of 24 weeks of Saturday entertainment  organised by Nantwich Town Council .

Hosted by The Cat Radio, the June 1 event features X Academy and from middaya to 2pm the popular George Formby Ukelele Society are performing.

For youngsters there will be The Balloon Wyzzyrd, Anni Face Painter and Punch and Judy.

Cllr David Marren, chair of Town Plan and Partnership committee, said: “A great deal of thought has gone into this year’s entertainment programme.

“We are pleased to include these very popular local performers that attract the crowds at our successful Jazz Festival.

“And in order to celebrate this event, the town council has provided this free performance to entertain visitors and locals in the town.”
