Hardy villagers held an activity day in Nantwich by switching venues to avoid the torrential rain.
Scores of families and youngsters attended the Stapeley Playground activity day which was moved inside to the new community hall.
Children were able to enjoy face painting, henna tattooing and T-shirt designing as well as circus skills and willow art.
The event was arranged by Stapeley Parish Action Group (SPAG) and funded by a sustainability grant from Community Spaces.
SPAG was formed to develop the Parish Plan and one of its major achievements is the building of the Stapeley Play area.
Now the group is appealing for new members to join the group and help plan improvements to the area.
It has working parties for transport, environment, public services and communications.

There is also a new Stapeley Litter Group (SLG) which is working with Cheshire East Council’s Streetscape department to reduce litter.

The next one-hour litter pick will be on Thursday May 23, meeting at Stapeley Community Hall car park at 7pm.

I notice that the community hall has been handed over to a private day nursery from the 3rd June. I fail to see how it can be called a community hall.
If a community hall is being used Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm, just how does anyone in the community get to use it?!
It seems that the very concept of a community hall being used to promote community for everyone is lost to these organisers.
An epic fail really as this will mean the hall has lost all meaning and, should by definition be renamed
Commercial Hall for any fee paying company wishing to hijack our venue.
There are plenty of venues more suited to the siting of a nursery, they are called COMMERCIAL LETS !!
