Peckforton Castle near Nantwich has been named as a finalist in the “Large Hotel of the Year” category of the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2013.
The venue will now go forward to an awards ceremony being held on May 20 at Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford.
All finalists are guaranteed to receive either a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Highly Commended Award.
Chris Naylor, managing director at Peckforton Castle, said: “To be recognised as one of the best hotels nationally is fantastic and all thanks to the dedication of the team here at Peckforton Castle.
“I am looking forward to the awards in May and hope we continue in our success.”
James Berresford, VisitEngland chief executive, said: “We received 320 applications and the quality of submissions was higher than ever.
“It is therefore no small achievement for Peckforton Castle to become a finalist and justifiably take credit and pride in earning a coveted place in the top five in their category in England. I wish everyone all the best for the final in May.”
It comes less than two years after an arson attack in June 2011 badly damaged 25% of the castle.
More than £2.3 million was spent on the rebuild and restoration, celebrating with a star-studded re-launch party in February 2012.
