Crewe & Nantwich RUFC Under 7s

Young Nantwich rugby players performed in front of thousands of fans in a special half-time match at a top Premiership game.

The Under 7s players for Crewe & Nantwich RUFC were invited to take part in a mini tag rugby half-time festival during the Sale Sharks and Gloucester Rugby clash.

And despite more than 8,000 supporters watching on, the Vagrants based youngsters performed brilliantly with two teams of seven taking part.

The six and seven year olds also had chance to meet Sale’s mascot “Sharky”, and were given free tickets to watch the match which Sale won 32-9.

Crewe & Nantwich Under 7s coach David Wayland said: “They were fantastic. It was amazing, it was probably the best they have played all season.

“They tagged well, scored some great tries, and were not fazed one bit by the size of the stadium and the crowd.”

The Under 7s players are finishing their 2012-13 season with two rugby festivals.

They travel to play at the Cheshire Rugby Festival in Bowdon on Sunday (April 21) and then at the Telford Rugby Festival on Sunday April 28.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
