Fire crews believe vandals set a bin ablaze in a busy area of Nantwich town centre.

The blaze happened on Swine Market, with one crew from nearby Beam Street station tackling the incident.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “It is believed this fire may have been started deliberately.

“If anyone has any information that could help identify those responsible they are asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The fire was started at around 8.30pm last night (Wednesday March 6)

In a separate fire, crews were called to a house in Audlem where a sauna had gone up in smoke.

The incident happened at a property on Hardys Lane, Cox Bank.

The fire was put out by crews from Nantwich and Audlem at 10.45pm last night.
