Four pupils from Brine Leas Sixth Form in Nantwich have scooped a top Maths award.

The BL6 team won the Keele Shield following their performance at the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Senior Maths Team Challenge.

The competition saw the Nantwich teenagers up against some of the brightest young mathematicians in the region to tackle a series of challenging problems.

Emily Hollinshead, Luka Dragovic, Ben Telfer and Will Simmons were presented with the award by Richard Stakes, from Keele University, who had been impressed with the way they performed.

Brine Leas Maths teacher Chris Barker said: “‘Since Brine Leas Sixth Form is relatively new we were not sure how we would compare with other schools in the area.

“We were absolutely delighted that our students were able to perform to such a high level and win this award.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
