David Lago

A Nantwich lawyer has launched a drive to get more businesses to contribute to the town’s Foodbank.

David Lago has set a collection centre at his new offices on Beam Heath Way business park.

He hopes it will encourage more donations as foodbank organisers in Nantwich brace themselves for a surge in demand.

Mr Lago, a father-of-two, said: “Nantwich has a fairly affluent image but from my years operating as a family lawyer in the area I have seen many cases of hardship.

“Changes in family circumstances, separation and marital breakdown are often the root cause of financial hardship and mothers, in particular, are left struggling to put food on the table.”

In less than a month since being founded, Nantwich Foodbank has supplied over a tonne of food to needy local people.

Businesses are asked to take their non-perishable food donations to David Lago’s office in George House.

The main Foodbank is based at the Market Street Baptist Church in Nantwich.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
