A Nantwich trader put himself in the picture for a top accolade – as a Guild Commended framer!
Mark Gee, who runs Art of Framing shop in Pillory Street, has passed the professional qualification that recognises excellence in craftsmanship and service.
Now he aims to take the skill into his business and go from strength to strength.
Mark, who has just celebrated the second anniversary of his shop, said: “I really enjoy my work, because you never know what people are going to bring into the shop for framing, so every day is a new challenge.
“I am really pleased about passing my GCF qualification. I believe it’s also good for the town and local area, as customers can be confident their artwork is in the hands of a qualified professional.”
Mark had to show he understands conservation framing and wide range of framing options his customers may require, which includes unusual objects and memorabilia.
Guild Commended framers are awarded their qualification by the Fine Art Trade Guild – the international trade association for the industry.

I’m sure this guy is good, but I use Kevin Greener at the Nantwich Market (indoor section) http://www.nantwichmarket.co.uk/
