Jimmy Quinn, Nantwich Town manager

Nantwich Town will return to league action after a three-week absence when they make the trip to title-chasing Hednesford Town.

The Dabbers’ campaign has been disrupted by adverse weather, seeing them slip down the Evo-Stik Premier League to 13th.

Boss Jimmy Quinn has no fresh injuries ahead of Saturday’s road trip to Staffordshire, with long-term absentee Mat Bailey the only player expected to miss out.

However, Quinn is concerned that some of his players may be suffering from fatigue following their extra-time defeat to Tranmere Rovers in the Cheshire Senior Cup on Tuesday.

“The only worry I have got is, because we hadn’t played for so long, towards the end of the game on Tuesday night a few of the lads were going down with cramp,” explained the Nantwich manager.

“One or two were complaining of tights calves and hamstrings. Because of the bad weather, a lot of them hadn’t been able to train properly, but they should be ok.”

Hednesford currently sit second in the Evo-Stik League’s Premier Division. They have won 12 out of 18 home matches in all competitions this season.

Games between the Dabbers and the Pitmen have historically been very close and the last three have all ended in draws.

Lewis Short and Rod McDonald left Nantwich earlier this week to join Airbus UK and Hereford United respectively.

While Quinn admits he is currently working hard to bring in replacements as soon as possible, any new arrivals are unlikely to be signed in time to feature at Keys Park.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
