Rod McDonald

Nantwich Town defender Rod McDonald appears to be on his way out of Weaver Stadium to Hereford United.

Officials at the Blue Square Bet Premier League side are saying the deal is done and McDonald is on a contract until the end of the season.

However, no one at Nantwich Town has confirmed the sale.

Hereford manager Martin Foyle told his club’s website McDonald had “been watched for more than 12 months”.

“We’ve had our eye on Rod for a while, and almost brought him in during the summer,” he told www.herefordunited.co.uk

“I wasn’t sure how many games he’d get… but with (Michael) Townsend out injured I had to do something.

“He’s another young lad, but you wouldn’t think so when you see him play. He’s got a lot of potential.

“He’s played two practice matches for us, and has performed well in both so we’re delighted to be bringing him in.”

McDonald will be the second player to leave the Dabbers in a week after winger Lewis Short was snapped up Welsh Premier League outfit Airbus UK.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
