A51 Bypass crash

A driver plucked himself out of his burning HGV which crashed while carrying chicken feathers near Nantwich.

Fire crews found the truck on its side in a field by the main A49 road at Cholmondeley.

The cab of the HGV was on fire, but the driver had managed to free himself before firefighters arrived.

Crews from Nantwich and Whitchurch tackled the blaze, using two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames and dampen down.

No one was injured in the accident which happened at around 4.45am on Tuesday (January 15).
