Nantwich Town cruised into the 4th Round of the Doodson Sport League Cup with a 2-1 win at Stafford Rangers.
Jimmy Quinn’s side continued their impressive away form with a stylish performance on a very heavy pitch.
Kyle Wilson put Nantwich ahead when he fired home from a narrow angle on the half-hour.
And the Dabbers sealed victory five minutes from time when Sean Cooke netted his 15th goal of the season from the penalty spot.
Rangers’ substitute Karl Ashton pulled one back for the hosts in stoppage time.
But it proved no more than a consolation as the Dabbers beat their local rivals to secure their passage into the next round in front of 210 fans at Marston Road.
Nantwich will look to continue their strong away form this Saturday when they visit AFC Fylde.
They return to the Weaver Stadium to take on Chorley the following Saturday January 19.
Nantwich: Brain, Dicker, Short (Hudson), Hughes, Moss, McDonald, Cooke, Brown (Lane), Beesley (Everall), Wilson, Maguire.
Attendance: 210
